While Amazon plans to make its decision later this year, the company continues to silently visit cities on their list, building more anticipation than ever to find out the winner - see Amazon's Super Bowl Alexa Commercial.
While we patiently wait for Amazon to pick a city and cut the ribbon, Philly has been playing a big part of Amazon’s latest launch, ‘The Treasure Truck, which proves to be funky delivery gold. Gone are the days where you need a ship, shovel, and compass that points to exactly what your heart desires. Step aside Jack Sparrow, amusing entertainment lovers are sprinting to the truck to find good deals, goodies, entertainment, and amazing prizes.
Officially starting in Seattle in 2016, the Treasure trucks are operated by Amazon team members that hand-pick trending must have items. Some of these include tech, fresh foods, holiday must-haves, outdoor essentials and gadgets. Everyday the items are re-selected, packed on the truck, and sent out on offer days. Customers in the city are notified via text message on offer days to let them know when they will be by, where, and what you can find on the truck that day.
The Treasure truck is so alluring because you really don’t know what could pop up on the truck. Past deals have included Huawei tech products, Hatchimals, and even the GoPro Hero4. Scope out more past offers by following the Treasure Truck Twitter account.
When customers in Philly want to buy an offered deal on the Treasure Truck, they simply visit their Amazon App, purchase, and select their pick-up time. The truck will confirm with you via text and send you an email confirmation of your purchase, pick up date, and truck stop.
For the worriers and detail oriented shoppers, returns are as easy as a purchase.
