Nestled along the banks of the Schuylkill River and the canal and tow path, Manayunk is an urban experience with small town charm. Named a National Historic District in 1983, Manayunk is located just minutes west of Center City Philadelphia, a short scenic drive out Kelly Drive or a quick train ride away.

Manayunk is a unique shopping, dining, and service destination with over 50 Chic boutiques and 30 restaurants and eateries. The town also has over 20 furniture and home furnishings stores, which is the largest concentration of furniture stores on one street in the entire East Coast. Strolling Main Street is like being whisked away to a European city. Manayunk is Lenape for “place to drink”. Manayunk has become a popular nightlife destination for college students and business commuters due in part to the many bars and restaurants in the area, a fact that emphasizes the historical meaning of the borough's name. Visitors to Manayunk will feel welcome and encounter an honesty and pride of service that makes shopping and dining a special experience.

Manayunk retained its small-town charm with its small two- and three-story row homes, cobblestone paving and hilly streets. Increasing demand for housing in the area has led to the conversion of former mills into loft apartments and stores with upscale shops.

Manayunk is also home to some great warm weather events! Many of which are coming up this summer. Let’s start with the Manayunk Arts Festival, happening June 25th & 26th! It’s the largest arts festival in the area. Running almost the length of Main Street, the fest hosts over 300 vendors. The 2-day event also has live bands and food trucks. The event is very family friendly. There’s always so much great art to see we highly recommend checking it out!
The Hidden River Blues Festival take places in August. It being held in the Venice Island Performing Arts and Recreation Center right off the Schuylkill River. This ticketed event is family friendly, and children under 10 get in free. XPN is hosting for the 2nd year in a row, a celebration of inspirational and eclectic modern blues music. Local and nationally known blues groups will perform. There are also food vendors in attendance and a beer garden!

The Spring StrEAT Food Festival has already passed but not to worry! The fall StrEAT Food Festival arrives in early September! Once again Main Street is shut down to accommodate this large food festival. With over 50 food trucks, you’re sure to not go home hungry. There is always a highlighted ingredient for each fare. This fall it is apples! Each vendor will create an additional special dish just to highlight apples. Also there is live music, and a beer garden for those 21 and up.

From the historic cobblestone streets and scenic views of the river to the bustling shops and nightlife of Main Street, Manayunk really does have it all. We can’t wait to show you around. We’ll see you soon while we buy some great local art and later this summer at all the great outdoor events!
