Keith & Rita

Keith & Rita

Gallery, studio, work of art, home:  For Keith and Rita, these things are one in the same.

Originally attracted to this property for its artistic details, their home was recreated by an artist and a craftsman rather than renovated for a profit by a contractor flipping it for profit.  This aspect presented challenges of its own, but they stabilized the minor issues and moved on with their lives, which allowed them to enjoy the fruits of their labor.  The home stood on its own as a work of art and that concept spoke to them as a sign.  It’s true what they say- when you see your home, you know.

A home is an incalculable number of things to an infinite number of people.  Universally it’s amphora for life.  Or simply put, a container.  It contains everything we hold dear; our loved ones, our possessions, our personal expression, our memories and experiences.  For Hope and Arthur, the time had come to fold an envelope to enclose all the new things they create together.

It isn’t very often we meet a seller who has owned a property for 25 blissful years, but when we do we’re humbled and struck with awe.  The lower the number of owners, the more intact a property tends to be and 1118 Shackmaxon St fits the bill. It’s hard to tell by the public records, but when Dan bought this property he could have been the second owner. Since then, he and his family haven’t just maintained this handsome home, they’ve enhanced it with tender loving care. You can tell by the striking details, and the incredible new addition.  Because they’ve made home improvement decisions with integrity they were able to enjoy a wonderful life in this quality space.

Amanda & Joe

Like all great tales, a series of serendipitous events led to where Joe and Amanda are today and their partnership with Philly Home Girls. Let's start 9 years ago. In 2007, Joe and Amanda had studied abroad in Italy during the same year, but it wasn't yet time for them to cross paths. As it turns out, Amanda spent her time in Italy with the best friend of their Philly Home Girl, Sheena.

There are a lot of moving parts in a real estate career.  As a real estate agent we devote our time to being fully available to our clients, fielding technical questions and emotional doubts, creating and executing marketing plans, negotiating, showing and staging properties, seeking out new clients as well as maintaining relationships with past clients.  The common misconception is that the subject of all these activities is a property when in fact it’s the people that make the property.

We will miss our home on its quiet street in Queen Village for many reasons. Inside our home, we will miss its unique craftsmanship features including the exposed brick, wood beams, and our cozy master bedroom. These walls have welcomed our new puppy Allie home, hosted brunch on our wedding day and witnessed many Eagles games! Our first home as a married couple, 215 Hall Street has been there for all the milestones.
