Courtney & Jonny

having to use our car, walking from place to place increases our quality time together as a family.  We walk to local neighborhood spots, to work in Center City, to grocery shop in Head House Square and to Chloe ourfavorite restaurant, which is in Old City. Our neighbors are friendly and instantly recognizable to us on a daily basis even if we have not been formerly introduced. They come in all varieties the new comers appreciate the folks with deep roots, and the longtime residents appreciate the newer improvements.

There are so many great home stories to tell but this is one of our favorites because these clients are some of our favorites.

Courtney, Johnny, and their daughter lived the quintessential city life, “Instead of having to use our car, walking from place to place increases our quality time together as a family.  We walk to local neighborhood spots, to work in Center City, to grocery shop in Head House Square and to Chloe, our favorite BYOB restaurant in Old City. Our neighbors are friendly and instantly recognizable to us on a daily basis even if we have not been formerly introduced. They come in all varieties the new comers appreciate the folks with deep roots, and the longtime residents appreciate the newer improvements.”

Because Courtney is a talented architect and their home didn’t need much work, she was inspired to move on to a project where she could exercise her architect’s muscle on her own abode.  Until then, her most favorite physical aspects of the home included the private rear patio that they used as a secondary living space, to play and to relax.  She enjoyed baking in her eat-in kitchen, “it’s spacious and nicely laid out for cooking.”  She also sews a lot so the third floor loft, before she staged it to sell, was set up as a bright sunny crafting area that anyone could enjoy for a multitude of uses, and it has a view of the skyline.

When we first her from our clients who purchased this home, the Vasquez family, we knew this was going to be the house for them.  They’re a very tight knit family of four. Because they’re active military they relish together time and weren’t interested in a home with fast spaces they could lose each other in.  They have a dog who would enjoy the patio and the nearby dog parks.  They have friends in the area. Finally, one of the most unique aspects of their purchase was that while they needed a turnkey real estate investment with growth potential, they also move every 4 years with the air force.  With no intention to hold a property short term, a fairly new row home with little to no maintenance required was ideal. Because this property was built in the 90’s, it has all the low maintenance qualities of a newer home, like modern wiring, an a-frame shingle roof and vinyl windows.

During their next deployment they can successfully rent the property at a profit, most likely without a management company, and ultimately come home and drop roots.  We love this situation for them.
