Jeanne Whipple and Deirdre Affel are amazing at their job! I moved from out of state and had so many questions about Philadelphia: Do I want to live by the fabulous Italian Market? But what about a yard for my dogs? And commuting to Temple for my new job? Or maybe Manayunk or Mount Airy would be better? But what about walkability? How far can I be from the train station and still have the regional rail as my main way of transportation to Temple? I contacted Philly Home Girls because their web portal's design is very appealing and also because the reviews sing their praises. Best decision ever! I made a couple of scouting trips to Philly and Jeanne and Deirdre drove me around for hours, showing me different options in South Philly, Manayunk, West and East Mount Airy, and Chestnut Hill. They were so good at keeping track of all my needs: "yes, this one has a good yard, but it is too far from the train station." As we drove around, they showed me the main features of each neighborhood, and this is when I realized these women absolutely LOVE their city! No wonder they do such a good job. It's not just a line of work, it's their passion. Through them I learned about the best dog parks and trail heads, the Weavers Way Coop, the tavern where "everyone in the neighborhood shows up," and the adorable cafe inside the Upsal train station. I ended up purchasing a beautiful 1930s home in East Mount Airy, a couple blocks from a train station, close to the restaurants and markets in Germantown Avenue, and 6 minutes from a beautiful trail in Carpenter Woods. Jeanne, Deirdre and their team made it happen. And their references for insurance, mortgage and inspections have been excellent and made the process so much easier. I would highly recommend Philly Home Girls to anyone trying to find their new home in Philadelphia.
