Nearby Neighborhoods: Girard Estate, Melrose, Lower Moyamensing, and the Philly Sports Complexes

Known for: Housing the Philadelphia Eagles training facility, the NovaCare Complex.

A small South Philly Neighborhood surrounded by the Schuylkill Expressway, South Broad Street, and FDR Park. The neighborhood came to life when a number of cul-de-sac developments built in the 1950s and 60s. Since then it has expanded through various eras and currently has four distinct sub divisions; The Reserve, The Villas, The Regency & Siena Place.

Wider plots of land and the physical separation from the busier areas of the city give this neighborhood a suburban feel without ever leaving the city. Professionals working in University City can hop on I-76 and be at work in under 15 mins. If you travel a significant amount, this is a neighborhood for you! Be at your airline gate door to door in minutes (no promises with the security line however). Packer Park Civic Association provides residence with resources and news for the community.

FDR Park is one of the city’s largest parks with a golf course, skate park, and plenty of sports fields. You can even go fishing! If you need more, take a drive down Broad Street where Marconi Plaza offers a baseball field and two playgrounds. The real perk is not worrying about parking when you head to the game!
