ROXBOROUGH

Nearby neighborhoods: Manayunk, Chestnut Hill

Known for: Being next to Wissahickon Valley Park, Roxtoberfest, and family friendly.

Roxborough often will be paired with Manayunk, but it’s in fact its very own neighborhood. Located in the Northwest of Philadelphia, it runs along the Schuylkill River to the west and Wissahickon Valley Park to the right. Ridge Avenue runs right down the middle of Roxborough. Back in the day, Ridge Avenue (then called Ridge Road) served as a throughway to and from Center City. Today it is populated with restaurants and small businesses that bring the community together. Being in close proximity of Manayunk means enjoying a second neighborhood as though it’s your own.

A perfect balance of nature and small-town community is why many look to Roxborough as a wonderful place to settle down. You’ll find gardens and front porches among the twins and stand-alone stone homes, all of which are nestled on leafy streets.

There are five civic associations where residents and business owners can find out neighborhood news, discuss issues and tune into new development and zoning ordinances.
