BALA CYNWYD

Large stately homes on tree lined streets in the Bala Cynwyd (bala-KIN-wood) embraces the suburban vibe. Settled in the 1680s by Welsh Quakers, it’s the first town of the Main Line and the closest to Philly.  A quick train ride will get you into the center city in 15-20 mins. 

Located in the Lower Merion School District which is recognized for excellence at regional and national levels. Maintaining one of the lowest class size averages in Pennsylvania, translates to about 21 students per class. Heavy in arts, music, sciences and other subjects that would make our younger selves jealous. A number of private schools in the area also provide a top notch education. Kohelet Yeshiva (lab, middle and high-school), Kosloff Torah Academy High School, Merion Mercy High School, Waldron Mercy (Montessori to middle school) and the French International School of Philadelphia(Pre-k, elementary and middle school). 

You're bound to bump into neighbors at The Bala Cynwyd library. Follow them on social to stay up to date with their packed schedule including story time and local lectures. When you’re done filling up your book bag, meet up with the neighbors down the block at Barnes Arboretum at Saint Joseph’s University is a 12-acre space to take a peaceful stroll.
