Known for: Outdoor friendly with Schuylkill River access, friendly neighbors, and local owned businesses.

Brewerytown is a quickly changing neighborhood with a growing retail corridor centralized along Girard Ave. Plenty of newly rehabbed row home properties, as well as homes just waiting for a little TLC to restore them to their original glory. Many of the old breweries have now been converted into swanky condos and apartments. This repurposing of old industrial buildings has helped keep the history of the neighborhood authentic and visible. Take time to walk down the narrow side streets and marvel at the brick row homes with big bay windows, and lovely porches with the perfect rocking chair to enjoy a cold drink in summer.

Loved by bikers and runners alike! With easy access to the Schuylkill River Trail, Fairmount Park, including Boxers Trail, there is never an excuse not to head outside. Check out Brewerytown Garden offering CSAs, events, farmstand, and neighborhood fun!!  Don’t miss Girard Ave Fest which brings the neighborhood together through arts and food. Neighbors joined together to create the Brewerytown Sharswood Community Civic Association. The BSCCA is present and active in the community with neighborhood improvements, events and resources for residents.

Brewerytown is a tight-knit community, with a nice mix of new residents and families who have passed down their homes from generation to generation. Many parts of the neighborhood qualify for CRA (community reinvestment act) loans, so there are some incentives out there to bring new buyers into the area.

Hop on Kelly Drive or 1-76 for easy access to the North, over the bridge to enjoy West Philly, or a trolley that runs across the city via Girard.
