Point Breeze originally stretched east to west, from 25th street to Broad St. Then about 10 years ago, another set of perimeters squeezed into this South Philadelphia area. Enter Newbold, defined as Broad Street to 18th. Wherever your loyalty lies, one thing is certain, both neighborhoods have pride and want to bring communities together.
Today it is a neighborhood under revitalization. Longtime residents and newcomers enjoy eclectic coffee shops, multiple neighborhood bars, a diverse list of restaurants, and plenty of community gardens. Point Breeze has a long tradition of coming together through gardening and with the help of the Neighborhood Gardens Trust there are 7 preserved green spaces in the area, a few even feature one of Philly’s famous murals.
